Sometimes you want to get into the spirit of celebrating a new era…like a new year…but you just can’t seem to get into the mood. It might be because you have to let go of something in order to grab on to something new. So, maybe you need to give as much attention to the good-byes! That’s one reason we have funerals.
So that makes sense for people, but an old year? Can you do a funeral for an old year? Yes you can! Write down, sketch, or sculpt the things you wish to leave behind or say good riddens to! You might even have some pictures, receipts, news stories, bad letters, etc. Have a little prayer thanking God for helping you through them. Then ceremonially place them in a box. Bury, burn, or compact the box into oblivion!!!
Now like a funeral sing a happy song of gratitude and go have some potato salad! If you do this before the clock strikes midnight on New Year’s Eve, you will be in the mood to celebrate a fresh start after the Times Square ball drops! The next blog will be tips on starting well…This was tips on finishing well! Do both this year! God bless –Cheri
