#WorldWideHolyCommunion – “Do this in remembrance of me.”

At Tweeting God’s LoveMinistries we provide sacred events for our family & friends as the Bible informs us.

Holy Communion is one which we celebrate on the first SONday of each month. Next will be this  SONday, November 5, 2017!

( We do know the typical spelling of The Lord’s Day, Sunday. but we prefer to honor the One for whom this seventh day is set aside by spelling it SONday.)

On Twitter you will find this celebration #GodsPrayerRoom, this SONday, November 5th- 1pmPST/4pmEST

Jesus met with His disciples in His Last Supper, before His death on the cross. 1Corinthians 11

The Lord Jesus, on the night he was betrayed, took bread, 24 and when he had given thanks, he broke it and said, “This is my body, which is for you; do this in remembrance of me.” 25 In the same way, after supper he took the cup, saying, “This cup is the new covenant in my blood; do this, whenever you drink it, in remembrance of me.” 26 For whenever you eat this bread and drink this cup, you proclaim the Lord’s death until he comes.

Please join us this SONday. You are always invited! To prepare…

  1. Confess in prayer any sin you feel is weighing on your spirit. We approach Holy Communion with a clean spirit. Jesus forgives and restores us thru prayers of confession.
  2. Prepare to have handy a glass of wine or fruit juice, and a piece of bread for each person participating.
  3. Tune in on Twitter at the time listed above and follow along as the Ministry leaders pray and direct you to take each element of Holy Communion.
  4. Praise, pray, sing and celebrate with your savior Jesus after Holy Communion is completed.
  5. Your Holy Communion leaders this week will be our missionary, Jenyou @Jeyour of Tanzania and Founder of Tweeting God’s Love Ministries,  Cheri Douglas,  of California

#WORLDWIDE BAPTISM on Twitter #GodsPrayerRoom

WORLDWIDE BAPTISM   #GODSPRAYERROOM                                                 October 29th.  1PM-PST/4PM-EST

baptismTherefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the
name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit –               Matthew 28:19

Jesus instructed the disciples to go make disciples, baptizing them. He felt so strongly about this that he even used himself as an example, offering himself for baptism by John the Baptist.

Baptism is our way of making our commitment to Christ public. WE join Christ in His burial as we are submerged under the water and become resurrected with Him as we come up transformed into his likeness.

With all the Christians being persecuted around the World, this is a perfect time to stand and be counted for Jesus Christ. Let our brothers and sisters in Christ SEE they are not alone. Over 90,000 Christians were killed last year by persecuting terrorists.

Tweet your baptism pics  to #GodsPrayerRoom 1pmPDT/4pmEDT on SONday! Let’s see #WorldWideBaptism TREND on Twitter on this  SONday!! YAY!

Some believe that the Holy Spirit fills us at the same time. So be ready for the powerful infilling of the Holy Spirit who loves and transforms us to a blessing for all.

Join us in making a public statement this year with                                                                                                                                                           #WorldWideBaptism on SONday – October 29th                                        Here’s HOW…

  1. Get a team of folks together to be baptized. Choose already baptized disciples/followers of Jesus to do the baptizing.
  2.  Take the team to a river, lake, pool, or any tub of water.
  3.  Have them each tell you how they know Jesus and why they want to be baptized into a life of following Him and turn from sinful habits with His help.
  4. Say a prayer dedicating the baptism as the person’s public commitment & the beginning of their healthy and lifelong walk in service to the Lord Jesus for His glory.
  5.  Dunk them 1 by 1 in the water repeating instructions Jesus gave us in Matthew 28, “I baptize you in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit.”
  6. Have a camera person taking pictures of the Baptism.
  7. Begin uploading your baptism pictures or videos to Twitter at 1pmPT/4pmEST on SONday, Otober 29th.
  8. If you have pictures of baptisms that you or your church have conducted on other days, please upload them in the same way on the same day.
  9. Our vision is to have #WorldWideBaptism trend on Twitter that day, showing the world of the powerful faith in followers around the world.

We are so hopeful that you and your friends and neighbors from every corner of the world will join us in baptism. Even if you have been baptized before, you can celebrate your walk with the Lord by a re-commitment! We will retweet your precious pictures to honor you and your public commitment and our Lord and the day He sent His Holy Spirit to every believer.

IMPORTANT                                                                                                                          If time constraints make our timeframes impossible for your Twitter postings, just send your pictures anytime  before or during Baptism Chat on  October 29th, at 1pmPacificDaylightTime to @CheriDouglas. I will tweet them for you into the Twitter trending stream at the right day and time.

May God get the Glory this day!!!

16 Years Ago Today!

America has been pounded by hurricanes and floods in the past few weeks and days. While we pray for all the victims of hurricanes and floods, we also remember the pounding that happened 16 years ago today.. the 911 we will never forget.

We pray today for the nearly 3000 families who lost loved ones as terrorists struck in New Youk City, WashingtonDC, and the plains of Pennsylvania.

Watch the ceremonies in NYC, Washington DC, and  Shanksville, Pennsylvania today.

May God bless and care for all those who lost a loved one                       (or loved ones) on 9/11/01 .

A Spiritual War – by Guest Blogger, John Lemmon, Australia

A Spiritual War

(2 Corinthians 10:1-3)

Here is a reminder to all Christians, especially when they are under attack and feel everything is just too much. When you reach that point where you think you can’t go on, you need to remember that we are at war.

The war of the spirit must be fought by the spirit

The war of the spirit must be fought by the spirit

The war we are fighting is not against the people of this world, but is a spiritual war. We are contending against a spiritual enemy whose whole purpose is to try and tear us away from the Lord Jesus and His salvation.

Those who choose to follow Christ have not chosen an easy path. Christians are put down, ridiculed, presented as pariahs, and treated as if they are of no account. Christian views are stomped on by those who oppose the Lord Jesus Christ, and yet they believe they are in the right to do so. However, if a Christian were to dare stand up for himself or herself, we are falsely accused of all manner of evil. That is why we must always remember this is not a worldly war and we should ask ourselves the question…

Who is the Real Enemy?

To put it bluntly, the real enemy is Satan, the devil, the opposer of all that is good and the accuser of all who follow Jesus Christ.

When we are being falsely accused, as indicated in the paragraphs above, it is not the people saying the words who are making these accusations. It is the devil who is behind those people, putting words into their mouths and pulling the strings as an evil puppet-master. He is the one responsible for ALL of the attacks that are made on the people of God.

As Christians, when we know and understand this, it becomes quite liberating because we see with new eyes. We see that the falsehoods and lies, the persecutions and accusations brought against us, and the arguments meant to tear us down are not human motivated, but are motivated by the evil spirits.

As a consequence we are able to overlook the people attacking us and see the real enemy for who he is. The devil who tries to remain hidden and who uses subtlety when he lies according to his own evil nature is manipulating people to do his will. And why not? He is the master manipulator who pushes people’s buttons to make them act contrary to sound judgement.

So as Christians we are able to forgive and have compassion on the people who attack us. They are simply being used by the devil to try and tear us down.

This is why Jesus counselled us to pray for our enemies in Matthew 5:43-45

“You have heard that it was said, ‘You shall love your neighbor and hate your enemy.’ But I say to you, Love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you, so that you may be sons of your Father who is in heaven; for he makes his sun rise on the evil and on the good, and sends rain on the just and on the unjust. (Matthew 5:43-45)

When we understand that the real enemy is not the person attacking us but rather is the devil, then we can pray for the person. And many times the Lord has turned around the hearts and minds of His opponents and they have become Christians. Just look at the Apostle Paul who violently persecuted the early Christian church, and yet became one of the greatest teachers and preachers of the truth of the gospel.

War on the Flesh

Now we need to also understand that there is another war going on which the devil will use against us. It is one thing to use other people against us, but the devil is also a master at using ourselves against ourself.

He will plant seeds of doubt in our minds to try to destroy our faith. He will attack us with our weaknesses by tempting us over and over again on the things that can bring us down and makes us fall. Consider the alcoholic who is continually tempted to go back on the booze. Or a drug addict whose former friends turn up unexpectedly with a stash. Or the chronic gambler who has to pass stores that sell lottery tickets and betting agencies that seem to pop up everywhere, and now are so easy to access through cellular and mobile phones.

It is the devil who orchestrates all of these things and more by causing the passions of our flesh to flare up and lead us astray. He wants us to be out of control so he can toss us about and wreak havoc with our minds, emotions and our faith. He wants to rip us apart so that we will forgo good judgement and reject the faith we have in Jesus Christ.

That is why Paul reminds us, and we MUST remember that we are at war, not against flesh and blood, but against the spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places.

A Spiritual War

This is a spiritual war and if we are to win it, we need to learn how to fight with and in the Spirit.

The Lord has not left us without the ability to fight and wage this war. Ultimately it is a war of good versus evil, and in order to win this war we have been given weapons that are spiritual by nature. We cannot fight this war by using worldly weapons. The war in the spiritual realm is not fought using guns, knives, explosives and the like. There are different weapons that we must use.

In my next post we will look at the weapons of this warfare in greater detail, and we will learn how to employ these weapons so that we can fight and win.

Of most importance right now though, is to understand that even though we are in this war and fighting this war, it is not our war. This war has been going on since the beginning when Satan was first identified as evil and cast out of the presence of God. From the beginning of the creation of the world, the devil has had it in for man, as we saw when he caused the fall of man in the temptation of Adam and Eve.

This war has been raging for a long, long time. We must remember that in order to fight this war in the spirit, we need to use the power of the Spirit to overcome. God has not left us helpless but has provided for us so that we can learn to fight the good fight. So in my next post we will look at how we can defend ourselves against the devil and win by using the many weapons that God has given us to be able to fight a spiritual war.

Tweeting God’s Love Ministries & Missions -What’s in a name?

Tweeting God’s Love Ministries began on Twitter  81/2 years ago as God called me to pray for people suffering from America’s recession. Twitter has been my mission field and the people have been a joy to pray for and minister with, one to another.

But we have also been drawn to foreign missions as we have crossed paths with some of God’s most dedicated and amazing missionaries. Their work is so astounding that we are adding the word “Missions” to the name of our Ministries. Unless otherwise specified, all donations to our ministry are split among our foreign Missionaries, who’s sCooEEbOUIAAslOPupport needs are immense.

So I really want you to know our missionaries and what they are doing, so I will update quarterly on their work. If you decide to help in their support, it will not be like giving to some bureaucratic organization. We will take you right onto the mission field to meet them and see their work. I will try to keep you  informed enough that you feel like you are a part of their mission yourself.

I will be briefing you on the three missions  we claim as OURS at Tweeting God’s Love Ministries & Missions. Adding Missions to our name is a symbolic & strategic move. It is symbolic of our love for these wonderful people who have come alongside to minister with us, and strategic, in that we are increasing our focus on support of the important work they are doing in today’s world for God.

13557956_1099667146757118_5246512876412502340_nSo how do we go about  picking a missionary? We don’t, they pick us! How do they pick us? They all have come to minister alongside us on twitter. Without exception, each of our missionaries have first come to join us and lead Bible Studies, Prayer or Praise Hours on Twitter. We get to know them and their families as part of our very own. They labor with us.

Second, they pick us by becoming concerned prayer partners for our needs. Not one of our missionaries has ever asked for money. Even when I ask them about financial needs, they respond consistently that they know God will supply all their needs. So I keep asking and create a list of the things I know they need and commit that to prayer. Since we have so few resources in TweetingGodsLove…we lean on the same faith that God will provide. And in His time, God does provide. People are moved by the Holy Spirit to help, either on their own or through our ministry donation process where they can leave a note as to what their donation should be used for. Unless specified, all donations go to these amazing missionaries.

Our Missionary Team is joining together in a strategic planning process this week and we will be able to share our specific goals soon . In then next few days I will introduce you to each of our missionaries. Once their plan is completed, I will share that as well. Please think about  donating to help keep these Great Missionary Families, hearing from and being blessed by Gods People.

Tomorrow I will begin a profile of each of these missionaries.

Happy 2016 Through Joy and Generosity

“Give, and it will be given to you. They will pour into your lap a good measure—pressed down, shaken together, and running over. For by your standard of measure it will be measured to you in return.”Luke 6:38 (NASB)

I was thinking about a theme for our new year here at Tweeting God’s Love Ministries and the idea of Generosity came to mind. Then someone tweeted me that South Africa is Celebrating the Joy of Salvation in 2016.  I’m not sure how much of the continent of Africa is celebrating this, but seems like we should join them, whoever they are!

And that works well with my concern about generosity, especially toward the missionaries of Africa who join us weekly sharing their leadership, wisdom, and prayers as active members of our Leadership Team on Twitter. So my challenge to you this year is to experience the “Joy of Your Salvation” through generosity to our amazing missionary leaders.  I am asking for monthly donations which I will divide among these wonderful men of God. I hasten to tell you, not one of these missionaries has EVER ask for money. Quite the contrary, they continue to bless us all each day and inspire us with their selfless FAITH! We pray for them continuously, and they continuously assure us that God will provide all they need.

This is rare. Most missionaries who follow me on Twitter, begin with asking for support. That never happens with our missionaries, though they are in as much need.  They come to minister to us and are grateful to be on our leadership team.

Let me introduce them to you…

Jenyo & Bukky
Missionary Pastor Jenyo Omolehin and his wife, Bukky.

Jenyo Omolehin ministers with us on Twitter from Tanzania. He and his wife, Bukky and 1YO Derrick live near Arusha where he also ministers and preaches at their local church.

Much of Jenyo’s time is spent traveling to minister, often many miles into rural parts of Tanzania. Many things about the abject poverty Jenyo sees break his heart, and the heart of God.  His greatest wish is to get clean drinking water to the people he has come to love.

Little Boy Drinking from Mud Puddle.
Little Boy Drinking from Mud Puddle.

Jenyo came upon this little boy recently as he left his cup for the next time he gets thirsty. This puddle is his water throughout the day, as long as it is there.

On, yet another  trip, Jenyo found this lady who was getting what little water she could find for her family!!

In our Twitter ministry, Jenyo is one of our most beloved Chat leaders. He is delightful and spreads the JOY of the Lord whenever he shows up. Inspite of the suffering he sees daily, Jenyo gladly gives of himself to bless us all. He even starts new chats and recruits more leaders to help TGLMinistries grow.

Next… I must introduce you to my dearest missionaries to Nigeria and République du Bénin.

Joseph and Peter left  lucrative pastorates in the city to go into the rural areas of Nigeria and more recently,  République du Bénin, to minister to the lost and train new Christian leaders throughout the region. They even travel into hostile areas to reach people who have never seen a Bible. They share an apartment with their wives and children…3 each ~ 6 children total.

Peter & Joseph’s wives run their mission school for the local children.

Peter and Joseph have led Bible Study chats weekly in Tweeting God’s Love Ministries, while they busily follow God as missionary leaders throughout their region for the last 4 years. During that time they have had their school blown away by storms, and still graduated both children and Ministry leaders.

It is so clear that all these missionaries and their families are making the world a better place by giving of themselves selflessly for the Lord. Scripture says that if you give to God, He will have others give to you.

LET”S BE THE OTHERS in 2016!!!

Let’s have the joy of knowing we are partners in these very good works. This is the genius of God’s plan for generosity.  The more we give the more blessed we are?

How much am I asking for you to donate monthly? Anything from $1 to whatever  God impresses you to give is what you should give. Please pray over this need and join us with as much as you can. I will be sure the money  will get to Jenyo, Joseph, and Peter. Every dollar will go to supporting these missionaries throughout 2016.  They freely give of themselve to us at Tweeting God’s Love Ministries. Let’s have some JOY in Generosity to them!

Just press the DONATE button on our  home page, and donate from there.
